About Us

Lean In

Lean In International Volunteer Travel is committed to providing the best services

Lean In is dedicated to offering unique opportunities for applicants to engage in meaningful experiences abroad. Unlike typical tourists, our volunteers have the chance to immerse themselves in local communities, interact with children, rare wildlife, and support villagers in need. Moreover, they will connect with fellow volunteers from all over the world, expanding their international network and broadening their global perspective. This enriching journey will add vibrant colors to their lives, and enabling volunteers to discover a new version of themselves along the way.

As an organization, we operate independently without relying on any official funding. Our existence is made possible by the goodwill, dedication, and enthusiasm of our team members and volunteers. We prioritize providing an authentic volunteering experience within a safe and beautiful environment, ensuring the well-being of our participants throughout their journey.

What does Lean In means?

Established in 2010, Lean In has been at the forefront of revolutionizing volunteer travel. Over the past 12 years, our organization has built a diverse and cross-cultural setup in all of our offices worldwide. We take pride in having a team composed of individuals from various countries, cultures, and ethnic backgrounds. This diversity enriches our work and empowers us to provide a seamless experience for volunteers.

Our organization's primary projects are mainly located in Asia and Africa. However, we are constantly expanding and adding more projects to our portfolio. Our commitment to growth allows us to offer a wider range of opportunities for volunteers to make a positive impact in various parts of the world.

Our Goals

The slogan of Lean In : A life-changing experience.
  • With the short-term volunteer service provided by Lean In, the rewards of the volunteers will be far greater than the sacrifices.
  • With the emergence of Lean In, we hope that more people can understand the significance of our creation of it.
  • We insist on doing meaningful things, insist on the concept of educational innovation, adhere to outdoor education methods, and insist on rapid growth brought about by more life experiences

What we do ?

  • Provide educational support to local communities in each project site
  • Volunteers will work alongside wildlife experts, with project coordinators (locals) at each project site
  • Provide pre-departure training for volunteers to help them learn more about the project country and project base
  • 90% of volunteer funds will be used for the construction of local communities, education, and wildlife
  • Cooperate with legal and well-known NGOs in various countries to carry out meaningful volunteer projects

What we don't do ?

  • Dangerous wild animals, we will not allow volunteers to come into close contact with feeding
  • Volunteers who do not accept the tourist mentality
  • Volunteer projects that are not suitable for public welfare such as the disabled and nursing homes are not provided
  • Not responsible for volunteers' medical treatment, travel alone, but will provide consulting services
  • Will not ignore volunteers, let volunteers have no direction in the work process

What does lean in offer ?

1

Lean In Responsibilities

As a pioneer of value leadership for young people, Lean In expects to bring volunteers more spiritual growth and more life guidance, not just a trip, but a meaningful trip.

3

Travel freely

We are committed to enabling more volunteers to travel better while doing volunteer work. On weekends, volunteers can choose their travel routes and travel items with the assistance of the staff.

2

Professional Training

Volunteers will receive comprehensive training to better participate in volunteer work. This will enhance volunteers' hands-on, independent abilities, while adding points to their resumes.

4

Security

The safety of volunteers is our top priority. Before the trip, we will conduct training on the corresponding trip. At the volunteer base, we have project coordinators who are fully responsible for travel.

What our volunteers say about us

This summer is unique. The enthusiasm, adorability, and eagerness to learn of the children in Bali deeply touched us. We enjoyed the entire process of volunteer teaching, laughing, and being joyful just like them, and were deeply moved. Love knows no borders; we helped plant the seeds of English in their hearts, and their smiles made our youth shine brilliantly and beautifully.

Bali

In just two weeks, I dined with the natives, shared watermelon with monkeys, swam in a lake with crocodiles, and lived under the same blue sky with elephants and humble villagers. I still remember the clear eyes of the local little girl. My trip ended with reluctance, and as I was leaving, a young boy said to me 'see you again.' I quickly got into the car, thinking to myself, 'I will come back to see you all.

Why Volunteer?

Volunteering is a life experience that makes you deeply understand the culture of each country, and get in touch with the most real and interesting people

  • Lean In provides volunteers the opportunity to improve their English, independence, work, and communication skills so that they can adapt to society more quickly and understand the world
  • Incorporate real giving into personal giving. Short-term volunteers need to pay for their own accommodation, food, transportation and human support costs for the project.
  • Lean In provides local NGO certificates that can increase the bargaining chip for volunteers to enter foreign companies and study abroad.
