Program Schedule

  • Sunday: Arrival at Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS), where Lean In staff will warmly welcome you and provide airport pick-up.

Volunteers will be grouped according to their English proficiency to ensure the best teaching experience. In the afternoon, they will visit the school to meet the students, explore the learning environment, and familiarize themselves with the surroundings.
  • Tuesday: In the morning, volunteers will visit the local school, assisting teachers in classroom activities while engaging with the children. The afternoon features one-on-three personalized teaching sessions, allowing volunteers to choose from subjects such as English, Chinese, mathematics, computer science, or Japanese.
  • Wednesday: Volunteers will continue their morning teaching sessions at the local school, fostering connections with the children through interactive learning. In the afternoon, they will participate in small-group teaching, providing more focused educational support.
  • Thursday: The morning will be spent exploring the vibrant Ubud Traditional Market, where volunteers will learn the art of weaving prayer baskets and take part in a traditional Balinese prayer ceremony. In the afternoon, they will head to the orphanage for a Chinese language teaching session, incorporating fun activities like games and music to create an engaging learning experience.
  • Friday: The day begins with a visit to a traditional Balinese village, a globally recognized model for eco-friendly living, where volunteers will learn about Bali’s environmental conservation efforts. In the afternoon, they will return to the orphanage for another Chinese teaching session. At the end of the program, volunteers will be awarded an official NGO volunteer certificate in recognition of their contribution.
  • Saturday: Volunteers will depart the project site before noon. Lean In staff will assist with drop-off arrangements, or volunteers may choose to extend their stay and explore more of Bali at their own pace.

What our volunteers say about us

This summer is unique. The enthusiasm, adorability, and eagerness to learn of the children in Bali deeply touched us. We enjoyed the entire process of volunteer teaching, laughing, and being joyful just like them, and were deeply moved. Love knows no borders; we helped plant the seeds of English in their hearts, and their smiles made our youth shine brilliantly and beautifully.

Bali

In just two weeks, I dined with the natives, shared watermelon with monkeys, swam in a lake with crocodiles, and lived under the same blue sky with elephants and humble villagers. I still remember the clear eyes of the local little girl. My trip ended with reluctance, and as I was leaving, a young boy said to me 'see you again.' I quickly got into the car, thinking to myself, 'I will come back to see you all.
